Employing existing street signage to absurdist ends, One Way or the Other, visits issues of advertising, choice, the public commons, and consumer sentiment.
On poles, the sinks are lifted to the same height as the sign and are oriented 90 degrees to face the viewer, and in essence, become signs themselves, rather than sinks. Thus, the choice one makes is not whether to turn left or right, but to choose a sign of a single round sink or a sign of a sink inset in a rectangular piece of Formica countertop.
